Launch of the CEN and CENELEC Workshop 'Digital Product Passport (DPP) for Machines'

A new CEN-CENELEC Workshop is being established to develop a CWA that defines the content and data of a Digital Product Passport (DPP) for machines. This initiative, led by the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) and stemming from the AIDEAS EU Horizon Europe project, aims to address the need for efficient data management in machinery, critical for innovation and sustainability across industries like manufacturing and agriculture. The CWA will standardize the collection, storage, and sharing of machine-related data throughout their lifecycle, supporting EU policies on the circular economy, data protection (GDPR), and industrial interoperability. The DPP will be particularly beneficial for manufacturers and stakeholders focused on sustainable practices, including equipment reuse, repair, and recycling. The document will emphasize data management and sustainability, excluding detailed manufacturing instructions or safety regulations. The final deliverables are expected by September 2025.
The kick-off meeting for this workshop will take place remotely on 24 March 2025 from 10:00 to 13:00 (CEST).
