Stakeholder Consultation on Framework for Sustainability | BIS

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), through its Environment and Ecology Department (EED), is organizing a Stakeholder Consultation on the draft Indian Standard series “Framework for Sustainability” on 12 November 2026 at Manak Bhawan, New Delhi, in hybrid mode.

The proposed framework comprises three parts:

The framework aims to establish a common understanding of sustainability principles, facilitate their integration into organizational strategies and operations, and provide guidance for evaluating sustainability performance and driving continual improvement.

The consultation will provide an opportunity for stakeholders from industry, government, academia, research institutions, conformity assessment bodies and other relevant organizations to share their perspectives and technical inputs, helping strengthen the framework and enhance its practical applicability across diverse sectors.
