Romanian Accreditation Association (RENAR)

The Romanian Accreditation Association, commonly referred to as RENAR, is the national accreditation body of Romania. Established in 1999, RENAR operates under the authority of the Romanian government, providing accreditation services to ensure that conformity assessment bodies such as laboratories, certification, and inspection bodies comply with international standards. RENAR plays a crucial role in facilitating global trade by ensuring that Romanian products and services meet international quality and safety standards. It is a member of several international accreditation organizations, including the European Cooperation for Accreditation (EA), the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).

RENAR’s primary mission is to enhance the quality infrastructure of Romania by providing impartial and transparent accreditation services. This helps bolster consumer confidence, foster innovation, and ensure the integrity of products and services. The association assesses and accredits a wide range of conformity assessment bodies across various sectors, including healthcare, environmental protection, food safety, and information technology. By maintaining rigorous standards and regularly undergoing peer evaluations, RENAR ensures that its accreditation processes remain credible and reliable, aligning with international best practices.

In addition to its core accreditation activities, RENAR actively engages in promoting the benefits of accreditation and conformity assessment. It collaborates with other national and international organizations to advance the quality and competence of Romanian industries. RENAR also provides training and technical assistance to enhance the capabilities of conformity assessment bodies. Its commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to high standards significantly contributes to Romania's economic development and its integration into the global market.
