Mongolian Agency for Standardization and Metrology (MASM)

The Mongolian Agency for Standardization and Metrology (MASM) is Mongolia’s national standards organization, responsible for developing and promoting standards to ensure quality, safety, and interoperability across various sectors. Established in 1993, MASM operates under the Ministry of Industry and Agriculture. Its mission includes formulating national standards, overseeing metrology, and promoting best practices to support industry, public welfare, and environmental sustainability in Mongolia.

MASM collaborates with both national and international organizations to align Mongolian standards with global best practices. It is an active member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Through its involvement with regional bodies such as the Asia Pacific Metrology Programme (APMP) and partnerships with other standards organizations, MASM helps harmonize regional standards and promotes their global adoption. This collaboration supports the integration of Mongolian standards into the international framework and enhances the competitiveness of Mongolian products and services in global markets.

To achieve its objectives, MASM continuously updates its standards and methodologies to reflect technological advancements and market needs. It provides a comprehensive range of services, including standards development, metrology, certification, and training across diverse sectors such as mining, construction, and agriculture. By promoting the use of recognized standards and improving measurement accuracy, MASM supports regulatory compliance, innovation, and consumer protection.
