Institute for Standardization of Serbia (ISS)

The Institute for Standardization of Serbia (ISS) is Serbia’s national standards organization, responsible for developing and promoting standards to ensure quality, safety, and interoperability across various sectors. Established in 1992, ISS operates under the Ministry of Economy. Its mission includes formulating national standards, coordinating with international bodies, and promoting best practices to support industry, public welfare, and environmental sustainability in Serbia.

ISS collaborates with both national and international organizations to align Serbian standards with global best practices. It is an active member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Through its involvement with the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC), ISS helps harmonize European standards and promotes their global adoption. This collaboration supports the integration of Serbian standards into the international framework and enhances the competitiveness of Serbian products and services in global markets.

To achieve its objectives, ISS continuously updates its standards and methodologies to reflect technological advancements and market needs. It provides a comprehensive range of services, including standards development, certification, and training across diverse sectors such as construction, healthcare, and information technology.
