IQNET Association – The International Certification Network

The IQNET Association – The International Certification Network – is a global, non-profit network headquartered in Bern, Switzerland, bringing together leading certification bodies to deliver internationally recognized management system certifications. IQNET unites 36 partner certification bodies from around the world, collectively issuing approximately one-third of all management system certificates, with over 360,000 valid certificates globally.

Formed in 1990, IQNET's mission focuses on providing harmonized, credible, and value-adding certification services. Through a Multi-Lateral Agreement (MLA), IQNET partners ensure that certificates issued by one member are recognized worldwide by all others, significantly reducing redundancy and lowering costs for multinational organizations. IQNET also aims to improve enterprise quality, enhance sustainable success, and support the development of efficient, user-friendly assessment processes.

Joining IQNET
IQNET membership includes Full Members (signatories of the Multi-Lateral Agreement) and Associated Members (an entrance stage to the network). Certification bodies (CBs) seeking membership must be accredited against ISO/IEC 17021-1 (for QMS and EMS) by an IAF MLA signatory, demonstrate the necessary resources and reputation, and align with IQNET’s goals. In addition to Full and Associated Members, IQNET introduced the Affiliated Body concept to engage the broader certification body community beyond traditional membership. This allows CBs worldwide to gain insights into IQNET’s cooperation tools, harmonization efforts, and business opportunities, benefiting from IQNET’s resources without full membership.

IQNET operates through a structured governance model:

  • General Assembly: The highest decision-making body, comprising representatives from each partner.
  • Board of Directors: Responsible for overall governance and policy direction.
  • Standing Committees: Covering areas like Constitution and Policy, Peer Review and Membership, Marketing and Development, and Harmonization and Best Practices, with each committee promoting the network’s objectives.

In addition to certification services, IQNET fosters knowledge-sharing, innovation, and best practices among its members. Through global branding, cooperative tools, and various forums, IQNET creates a collaborative environment that supports continuous improvement and alignment with global market needs.
