Institute for Standardization of the Republic of North Macedonia (ISRSM)

The Institute for Standardization of the Republic of North Macedonia (Институт за стандардизација на Република Северна Македонија - ИСРСМ, ISRSM) is the national body responsible for developing, approving, and adopting standards across various sectors in North Macedonia. Established by the government, ISRSM began as a sector within the Ministry of Economy in 1993, transitioning to a full-fledged institute by 2003. Its operations include creating Macedonian standards, promoting national standards, and providing businesses and industries with tools to meet local and international quality and safety benchmarks.

ISRSM actively collaborates internationally through its memberships with key standardization organizations, including the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), where it has been a full member since 1995; the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), where it has held associate membership since 2005; the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), where it became a full member in 2012; the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC), also a full member since 2012; and the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), which recognized ISRSM as a national standardization organization in 2006.

The institute is structured with an Assembly, a Council, a Director, and a financial control board, ensuring comprehensive oversight and representation across sectors. For more information, please visit the official website of ISRSM.
