Bosnian Institute for Accreditation (BATA)

The Bosnian Institute for Accreditation (Institut za akreditiranje Bosne i Hercegovine, BATA) is the national accreditation body in Bosnia and Herzegovina, responsible for establishing and maintaining a competent, impartial, and independent accreditation system. BATA’s mission is to foster trust in services provided by accredited laboratories, certification bodies, and inspection bodies, supporting international trade and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s global competitiveness.

BATA cooperates with the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and is a signatory to both the EA Multilateral Agreement (MLA) and the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA), which promote international recognition of accredited services in testing, calibration, inspection, and certification. BATA also adheres to standards from EA, ILAC, and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), ensuring an impartial and reliable accreditation system. Additionally, BATA collaborates with accreditation bodies in neighboring countries through bilateral agreements, enhancing regional cooperation through shared expertise and resources.

BATA is committed to impartiality and has policies to ensure neutrality and manage conflicts of interest across all accreditation processes. Its Advisory Council, which includes representatives from various stakeholder groups, reinforces this dedication to impartiality. BATA also emphasizes continuous improvement through internal audits, management reviews, and client feedback. For more information, please visit its official website.
