Accreditation Body of Montenegro (ATCG)

The Akreditaciono Tijelo Crne Gore (ATCG), or Accreditation Body of Montenegro, is the national authority responsible for accrediting organizations that perform conformity assessments in Montenegro. Established in 2007 following the Montenegro Accreditation System Study, ATCG was created as an independent, non-profit organization with the goal of enhancing national quality infrastructure. Its mandate includes assessing the competence of organizations to ensure compliance with Montenegrin, European, and other international standards, thus supporting quality assurance within the country.

ATCG performs several core functions to support Montenegro’s accreditation infrastructure. These include verifying the competence of entities engaged in testing, calibration, inspection, product and process certification, management system certification, and certification of personnel. Additionally, ATCG sets and publishes accreditation rules based on relevant Montenegrin and international standards, participates in European and international accreditation organizations, and represents Montenegro’s interests abroad. It also maintains a registry of accredited organizations, organizes training and information sessions on accreditation, and promotes the importance of accreditation within the region.

ATCG is an active member of the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA) and a signatory of the EA Multilateral Agreement (MLA). This status enables mutual recognition of its accreditations internationally, supporting Montenegrin businesses in accessing global markets. Through EA's partnerships with international organizations like the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), ATCG’s accredited certifications are recognized worldwide.
