The Performance Review Institute (PRI)
The Performance Review Institute (PRI) is a global, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing quality, safety, and reliability in highly regulated and high-risk industries. PRI is headquartered in the United States, with additional offices supporting organizations across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
PRI was originally established to administer NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) — an industry-managed accreditation program for special processes and products used in the aerospace and defense sectors. NADCAP was developed collaboratively by industry and government to improve quality, strengthen supply chain confidence, and reduce operational risk.
Over time, PRI expanded its activities beyond NADCAP. In 1995, PRI established PRI Registrar, a management systems registrar providing internationally recognized third-party certifications to standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and ISO 14001, among others.
In response to growing industry needs, PRI later launched PRI Training, delivering specialized training programs focused on critical processes and quality management, as well as PRI Qualification, an industry-managed personnel qualification program.
More recently, PRI has applied the NADCAP model to additional industries where safety and quality are essential. These initiatives include the MedAccred program for medical device manufacturing, as well as programs supporting the transportation and power generation sectors.
Through its accreditation, certification, training, and qualification programs, PRI supports organizations worldwide in demonstrating conformity, improving processes, and aligning with industry-driven requirements.
